I am confused. What is credit card consolidation? What is loan consolidation? What is a debt consolidation loan?

I know they are not the best choice. Please don’t tell me how to manage my credit cards. I am beyond that stage. This is the last option for me. I know some of the companies are fradulent and some effect your credit more negatively than others. I just need to know the names of CC Consolidation companies that are legimate and maybe won’t hurt your credit as much as others.

i have been doing some Research and discovered that there are just to many consolidation company’s that are scams .i need help and don’t want to get caught up even more. i do not understand why as a taxpayer that we are able to bail out the banking Industries but thay wont give out personal loans.

My husband was out of a job for a while and of coarse we felt like there was no other choice but to use our credit cards. Now we are stuck in a big hole and can’t get out. The finance charges are ridiculous and I feel like it’s nothing but a scam. I’ll pay it down below the limit, and then it jump up and the charge plus another charge of being over, which was not my doings. I need help, I’m afraid we are headed towards Bankruptcy. I looked this up, and this company seems like this is what I need to help. Has anyone had or heard good things about Care-One Debt Relief?

The statute of limitations is up in 11 months, but I **** to leave this hanging. I have some good faith money $5000 but they want 11,000 to settle. I have no way to get the extra 6000. Already used all my options and am working extra to keep other bills paid. I really have no other money.

How much is the fee usually associated with a debt settlement programs? Note I am talking about “debt settlement” program not “debt consolidation” prorgram. I called two places and both the fee is 15% of the total balance of the outstanding debt. I guess I want to know if that’s the standard fee to pay for debt settlement or if there’s anything lower out there then I will keep searching.

Please answer directly to the question I asked only. Don’t go telling me how these programs are a scam and that I will end up paying more money with these programs blah blah blah, and I don’t need advice about other options to lower my debt. Just answer the question I asked thank you!!

I actually used a debt settlement program a while ago, they did a settlement for me for 40%, but they charged me a 15% fee, so at the end it ended up being 55%. I am just wondering if there’s anything out there that charges less for the fee. I know there’s a lot of rip-off settlement agency that actually charge more, so I am wondering if I actually paid too much when I paid 15% back then…
